What is RERA Project Registration?

The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA) was introduced to bring transparency, accountability, and trust into India’s real estate sector.
RERA project registration is mandated by Section 3 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, Promoters/Builders require to register any new real estate project with the relevant RERA authority before advertising, selling, or marketing it. The process involves register and create account on the state RERA portal (like MahaRERA), filling out forms and uploading necessary documents and pay the require fees and check the status online.

  • Pan Card
  • Legal title report
  • Details of legal and finance Encumbrance
  • Copy of Layout Approval
  • Commencement Certificates / NA Order for plotted development
  • Declaration about Commencement Certificate
  • CERSAI details
  • CA Certificate on Project Cost & Fund withdrawal (Form 3)
  • Proforma of the allotment letter
  • Proforma of agreement for sale
  • Deviation Report with respect to model copy of Agreement Allotment letter
  • Deviation Report with respect to agreement for sale
  • Bank Account details
  • Any Other Documents

RERA Government Fees
Project Registration fee for Residential, Commercial, Plotted or Misxed will be around Rs. 10/sq. meter
Minimum Fees for Registration Rs. 10,885/-

Timeline for RERA Registration
After registration, the RERA certificate will be issued in 30 days by the RERA department. However, in some cases, it may come earlier or with some delay as per documents.
